Fear of the Lakeside: Uo King Dead (Japanese: 湖畔の恐怖うぉーキングデッド Kohan no Kyōfu U~ōkingu) is the 28th episode of the Y School Heroes anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on July 17, 2020.

Summary[]

Y-Academy's summer break starts tomorrow with only Jinpei, Sandayu and Mataroleft in the dorms. Jinpei suggests they go camping in the YY Camping area along with Kuka and Ranto, who heard that an UFO was identified at the campsite. Nayu, who has been keeping an eye on the YSP members, plans to do something "inadvertently" dangerous where they lose their lives in the process. First of all, she orders Shinobu, a Disciplinary Committee member, to mix spices into their food??

Plot[]

Summer break has started for Y-Academy. While almost all the students are returning home, Jinpei, Sandayu Mataro and Kuka all decided to go to the "YY Camp Area". Nayu and Shinobu came up with a plan to have the gang lose their lives due to dangers from the camping area. When they all head to the camp, for some reason, Ranto has decided to join the camping trip. The reason for this was that Kuka lied and lured him out because she wanted to go camping with Ranto. But Ranto leaves everyone at the camping area, saying that he wants to be alone. Jinpei and co. are enjoying themselves at the campsite.

Kuka has modified the Shining Watch to act like a pocket knife and used it conveniently, Ranto, on the other hand, was alone and watching the sky. At Nayu's command, Shinobu was sneaking around, but was found by the gang, but they are unaware that he is a member of the Disciplinary Committee. For some reason, Shinobu ends up procuring food with the gang. Jinpei and co. are fishing at the pond, and that's where Shinobu, pretending to be their friend, comes in. He tries to kill the members, but fails in frustration. Then suddenly the Onryo, "Uo King Dead", appears and Jinpei and Sandayu try to transform, but don't have their watches, as Nayu threw them into the water.

Kuka goes to ask Ranto for help, however, he is stopped by Nayu and isn't able to rush over. When Mataro learns that Jinpei and Sandayu can't transform, he asks Kuka if he could use the Shining Watch again. Kuka then tells him that Shining Watch would only increase his abilities by 1.2 times after transforming. Mataro is surprised by this information, but says that it doesn't matter if it's 1.2 times higher, as he'll fight with all his might. Moved by his words, Kuka removes the pocket knife part, and gives Mataro the Shining Watch, allowing him to transform into Shining Boy.

But once again, Shining Boy's offense doesn't work, and Jinpei tells Mataro that they helped him with the fight from last time. Mataro knew that was the case, and still decides to continue to fight and protect everyone. However, with all his gusto, Mataro's attack doesn't work, but he still confronts the Onryo being severely beaten up, and is flung by Uo King Dead's strength. Mist Shadow catches Mataro after being flung, and praises him on how well he did, and Mataro faints.

Mist Shadow defeats Uo King Dead with ease, but Nayu resurrects the fish in the pond, creating Uo King Dead Final. Thanks to the power from Nayu, the four Onryo are able to take Mist Shadow down. Then, a "flash of light" appeared from Mataro, who was still unconscious. Appearing in front of everyone was a mysterious green hero, which no one had ever seen. The green hero used his overwhelming power to kill the four Onryo, and burned the fish with his special move, and vanished into the sky.

Nayu questioned the appearance of the mysterious green hero, and then Mataro regained consciousness. Everyone was amazed by the power of the mysterious hero, and Shinobu and Nayu had no recollection of their murderous intentions towards the gang. Jinpei finds his and Sandyu's YSP Watches that had washed ashore, and gained 2 new medals. Mataro was unaware of the appearance of the mysterious hero, and vowed to himself that he too would be a strong hero one day.

The scene where Uo King Dead Final drowns is a possible reference to the poster of the 2006 film called The Inugamis.
