Love Under the Moon Is in Overdrive (Japanese: 月下の恋はオーバードライブ Gekka no Koi wa Ōbādoraibu) is the 29th episode of the Y School Heroes anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on July 24, 2020.
Summary[]
Continuing from the episode, Jinpei and his friends are still camping, until this morning's news about the popular gorilla "Mohikan Goro" which escaped from Y-Academy's zoo. There was information that it had fled into the direction of the YY camping area, with nobody having a clue. The camp groups divides into 2 groups to procure firewood and to search for a legendary giant mushroom which its taste exceeds the beef steak. Jinpei and the others are the mushroom search team while Kuka joins the firewood group as her great opportunity to tell Ranto who she was.
Plot[]
When they woke up the next morning, Jinpei and others saw that Ranto was making breakfast for them. Jinpei, Sandayu and Mataro decide to search for the "legendary giant mushroom" based on Kuka's information. And while, Jinpei and the others searched for mushroom, Ranto and Kuka went to collect firewood. Kuka becomes a bit frantic when she's alone with Ranto, as she wants to reveal herself Kumako. But if that happens, Ranto would have to hide her identity from the thought that she might expel herself of Y-Academy.
Ranto begins to talk about his memories of Kumako, and how he felt that she was such a nuisance and it's better that's she's gone now. Kuka bursts into tears at these words (as she wasn't aware that Ranto hated her). Meanwhile, a gorilla named "Mohikan Goro" escaped from the zoo and came to the YY campsite. Mohikan Goro dies because of Jinpei and the others, and becomes an Onryo who holds a grudge against them. Nayu decides to use Mohikan Goro to infuse it with power, making it the ferocious, "Mega MohiKong". Jinpei enjoys mushroom picking at his own pace, and transforms into Kengo Benimaru without haste, and succeeds in catching a giant mushroom by using special moves.
In the evening, a heartbroken Kuka is spreading firewood alone when Mega MohiKong attacked. Kuka injures her leg and can't move. There, Ranto comes to her aid, transforms into Mist Shadow and fights. Mega MohiKong is surprisingly strong, and even Mist Shadow isn't strong enough to defeat him. Kuka watched as they duo fought, and tosses Mist Shadow a new transformation medal (Deep Shadow Galaxy). Mist Shadow receives the new transformation medal she threw, and loads the medal into the Alien Watch, transforming into Deep Shadow Galaxy.
When Deep Shadow Galaxy defeats Megamohi Kong with "Comet Lance", he receives 2 new Y medals. After Ranto's transformation dissolves once the battle is over, Kuka limps over in pain as she cries at the terrified Ranto. She thought that he knew that she was Kumako, and that she'd have to say goodbye to him again. But, Ranto crouches down and lends Kuka and piggyback ride, as he wanted to head back to the campsite. Kuka is carried by Ranto, passing by the lake at night.
Ranto asks why she saved him during the fight, and she said that she wanted to be of use. She felt stupid for hurting her leg, and apologized for not being of much help. When she asked if Ranto was listening to her, he said that she felt lighter, which made her happy and moved to tears. At that time, Jinpei and the others were barbecuing the giant mushroom they had taken. And when Momo takes a bite, he grows larger in size, to which Jinpei also eats the mushroom without hesitation and also grows in size. His clothes were torn off, the only bits left were his underwear, and Jinpei decides to fight Momo.
